Another Day Like This One

                                                                            by Chuck Graves

This morning I arose with the cock's first crows
and I set about to walk a country mile
I heard the birdies tweet
and the leaves beneath my feet
and the squirrels a'scoldin' made me start to smile

So, I took a breath of air
and I headed out to there
and my muscles workin' made me feel so good
that I thought it would be fun
if I had a little run
so I did
you know, it was
I knew it would.

Then there came a morning rain
as I slowed to walk again
and but for sound of rain the forest 'came so still
Then a rainbow filled the sky
and as I watched the clouds went by
'til I saw the last one slip behind a hill

What a time I had today
as I joined the world at play
now I'm sitting here and gazing at the moon
And I know that sure as time
comes and goes away
that I'm
bound to have another day like this one soon.
